The 74HC4052 is a 3-channel dual 2-to-1 analog multiplexer/demultiplexer with a common enable input control bit. Each multiplexer has two independent inputs/outputs (Y0 to Y1), a common input/output (Z), and a selection input (Sn). Each channel contains two bidirectional analog switches: one side of each switch connects to an independent input/output (Y0 to Y1), and the other side connects to the common input/output (Z). When E is LOW, one of the two switches is selected by Sn (low-resistance ON state); when E is HIGH, all switches are in the high-resistance OFF state, independent of SA to Sc. VDD and VSS are the supply voltages connected to the digital control inputs (SA, SC, and E). The (VDD - VSS) range is 3~9V, and the analog inputs/outputs (Y0~Y1 and Z) can swing between a maximum of VDD and a minimum of VEE. (VDD - VEE) shall not exceed 9V. When used as a digital multiplexer, VEE and VSS are connected together (typically to ground).
