Frequently asked questions
What files do I need to get a PCB fabrication quote?
For an instant online estimate you only need the board parameters: dimensions, layer count, quantity, material, thickness, copper weight, and surface finish. For production we need your Gerber files (RS-274X) and NC drill files. You can attach or link them during the quote flow.
How fast can Varnitronics deliver prototype PCBs?
Standard 1–2 layer prototypes typically ship in about 5–9 working days, and 4–6 layer boards in about 8–12 working days, depending on quantity and finish. The exact lead time is shown live with your online quote before you commit.
Which surface finish should I choose?
HASL is the economical default for most through-hole and coarse-pitch designs. Choose ENIG for fine-pitch BGAs, flat pads, and better shelf life; OSP for a low-cost flat finish on boards assembled soon after fabrication; and Immersion Silver for RF and high-frequency work.
Do you check my design before manufacturing?
Yes. Every order gets a design-for-manufacturability (DFM) review before it enters production. If we find issues — acid traps, insufficient annular rings, unclear drill data — we contact you before anything is fabricated.
Is every board electrically tested?
Yes, 100% of boards are electrically tested against your netlist using flying probe or fixture testing, so opens and shorts are caught in our factory rather than on your bench.
