Components Sourcing

The right parts, from the right channels.

BOM procurement with traceability you can audit — authorised channels, anti-counterfeit checks, alternate management, and lead times stated as dates, not guesses.

Procurement is where schedules go to die. Not here.

A board is only as real as its hardest-to-find part. Our sourcing team exists to make the component column of your project plan boring: parts bought from accountable channels, verified on arrival, kitted, and staged before the line needs them.

For turnkey assembly customers this happens invisibly inside the order. As a standalone service, it gives your own production line the same procurement leverage — one accountable partner instead of a dozen open browser tabs.

Anti-counterfeit by default

Parts come through authorised and franchised channels with paper trails. Date codes, lot codes, and packaging are verified at incoming inspection — grey-market surprises don't reach the line.

BOM scrub before buying

Every BOM is normalised and checked first: lifecycle status, obsolescence flags, footprint mismatches, and multi-sourcing options. You approve any change before a single part is purchased.

Lead-time realism

Long-lead and allocation-risk parts are flagged with dates, not adjectives. Where a part threatens your schedule, we propose approved alternates or secure stock ahead of the build.

Frequently asked questions

How does Varnitronics avoid counterfeit components?

By sourcing through authorised distributors and franchised channels wherever possible, keeping full channel traceability, and verifying date codes, lot codes, packaging, and markings at incoming inspection. If a part is only available outside authorised channels, we tell you and agree the risk approach together.

Can you suggest alternates for obsolete or long-lead parts?

Yes — the BOM scrub flags end-of-life, not-recommended-for-new-design, and long-lead parts, and proposes form-fit-function alternates. Nothing is substituted without your written approval.

Do I have to use your assembly service to use sourcing?

No. Sourcing works standalone — we can deliver verified, kitted components to your own line. It pairs naturally with our assembly service, but it isn't tied to it.

What should my BOM include for an accurate sourcing quote?

Manufacturer part numbers (MPNs) are the key — plus quantity per board, reference designators, and any approved-alternate list you maintain. Description-only BOM lines are where errors creep in, so we normalise those with you before quoting.
