AP2965SPER

AP2965 is a high-efficiency synchronous buck converter with CC/CV functionality, capable of delivering 4.2 A output current over a wide 6V~36V input range. The AP2965 supports both CV (constant voltage) and CC (constant current) output modes, with adjustable current limiting and output voltage. It is particularly suited for QC 2.0/3.0 (12 V/1.5 A, 9 V/2 A, and 5 V/3 A), Type-C PD (5 V/3 A), and Apple portable device (5V/2.4A) applications. Output voltage and CC current limit can be programmed via the FB, CSP, and CSN pins respectively. To achieve superior EMI performance and comply with Apple MFi standards, the switching frequency is fixed at 130 kHz. Prior to soft short-circuit protection — which activates when the output voltage drops below 3V due to overcurrent from a portable device — the AP2965 can operate in CC mode. An automatic discharge circuit rapidly and reliably discharges the output capacitor to prevent overvoltage faults, ensuring safe operation in QC 2.0/3.0 applications. Hiccup-mode output undervoltage protection reduces average input current to 50 mA. Output line voltage compensation and low dropout operation make the AP2965 especially well-suited for car charger applications. The AP2965 is available in an SO8-EP package, enabling both a compact solution footprint and enhanced thermal dissipation.
