BQ25858-Q1 and BQ25858B-Q1 are automotive-grade wide input voltage bidirectional buck-boost switching controllers. These devices deliver high-efficiency regulation over a wide voltage range with output constant current–constant voltage (CC-CV) control. All loop compensation for the buck-boost converter is integrated on-chip, enabling a high-density, easy-to-use solution. In reverse mode, the devices draw power from the output supply, regulate the input terminal voltage, and add an extra current loop for protection. In addition to I2C host control mode, the devices support programmable hardware limits. The input current and output current regulation targets can be set independently via a single resistor on the IIN pin and IOUT pin, respectively. By default, the devices are programmed to provide a 5V output; the target output voltage can be adjusted via the VOUT_REG register bits.
