Overview

CH338 is a 7-port USB hub controller chip compliant with the USB 2.0 specification. Its upstream port supports USB 2.0 High-Speed and Full-Speed modes, while the downstream ports support High-Speed 480Mbps, Full-Speed 12Mbps, and Low-Speed 1.5Mbps. The chip supports both the low-cost STT mode and the high-performance MTT mode, providing each downstream port with an independent transaction translator for full-bandwidth concurrent transfers. Select variants also feature a built-in USB PD PHY, supporting up to 100W fast charging. Designed to industrial-grade standards with a simplified peripheral circuit, the chip is suitable for computer motherboards, industrial control motherboards, peripherals, and embedded systems.
