Overview
CH348 is a high-speed USB bus converter chip that implements USB to eight asynchronous serial ports UART0/1/2/3/4/5/6/7, used to expand asynchronous serial ports for computers, or to directly upgrade ordinary serial port devices or MCUs to USB bus.

Key features
- 480Mbps high-speed USB device interface; only crystal and capacitors required as external components.
- Built-in firmware emulating standard serial ports, enabling upgrade of existing serial peripherals or addition of extra serial ports via USB.
- Fully compatible with serial port applications under Windows OS on the host side; no modifications required.
- Hardware full-duplex serial port with independent built-in TX/RX buffers; communication baud rate supports 1200bps ~ 6Mbps.
- Serial port supports 8 data bits, odd/even/no parity, and 1 or 2 stop bits.
- Each serial port features a built-in 2048-byte RX FIFO and 1024-byte TX FIFO.
- Supports common MODEM control signals: RTS, DTR, DCD, RI, DSR, CTS.
- Supports CTS and RTS hardware automatic flow control.
- Half-duplex support with TNOW signal indicating serial transmission status, usable for RS485 TX/RX switching control.
- Supports up to 48 GPIO input/output lines.
- Supports RS232, RS485, RS422, and other interfaces via external level-shifting devices.
- CH348L serial port I/O independently powered; supports 3.3V, 2.5V, and 1.8V supply voltages.
- Built-in EEPROM for configuring VID, PID, maximum current, manufacturer and product information strings, and other parameters.
- Single 3.3V power supply.
- Available in LQFP48 and LQFP100 lead-free packages, RoHS compliant.
