Overview

ETA1458 is a wide input range, high efficiency, high frequency DC-DC step-down switching regulator capable of delivering up to 3A output current. It employs an adaptive constant on-time control scheme to achieve ultra-fast transient response and provides very smooth transitions as the output load changes from light to heavy. Under light load conditions, ETA1458 enters pulse frequency modulation mode to reduce switching losses and maintain high efficiency. The adaptive constant on-time control also maintains a constant switching frequency across varying input voltages and load conditions. The overvoltage protection feature safeguards both the IC itself and its downstream systems against input voltage surges. With this overvoltage protection capability, the device can withstand input voltages up to 19V, making it an ideal solution for industrial applications such as LCD TVs, set-top boxes, and portable televisions. The device is available in a SOT23-6 package.
