Overview

ETA3421B is a high-efficiency DC-DC buck constant-current LED driver capable of delivering up to 1A output current. The device operates over an input voltage range of 3V to 5.5V and uses a 0.1V FB voltage for high efficiency. It operates at a fixed frequency of 1.5MHz, allowing the use of small inductance values and low DCR inductors for higher efficiency. Due to the higher switching frequency, other external components such as ceramic input and output capacitors can also use smaller sizes. A 20–100KHz true PWM dimming function via the EN pin enables digital programming of LED current. An internal soft-start control circuit reduces inrush current. Short-circuit and open-circuit LED protection improves design reliability. The ETA3421B is available in a compact SOT23-5 package.
