FR9837ASP

FR9837A is an asynchronous step-down DC/DC converter offering a wide input voltage range of 3.5V to 40V and 5A continuous load current capability. Its wide adjustable switching frequency range allows optimization of either efficiency or external component size. Under light-load conditions, the FR9837A can operate in power-save mode to support high efficiency and reduce power consumption. Protection features include cycle-by-cycle current limiting, input undervoltage lockout, output overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown. In addition, a soft-start function prevents inrush current at turn-on. The device employs a current-mode control scheme for fast transient response. Internal compensation reduces external compensation components, simplifying the design process. In shutdown mode, supply current is less than 1.3μA. The FR9837A is available in an SOP-8 (with exposed thermal pad) package for excellent thermal performance.
