FR9838DH

FR9838 is a dual-channel synchronous step-down DC/DC converter offering a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 36V and 5A load current capability. It provides solutions for automotive chargers, smart power strips, and portable chargers. The FR9838 operates in either constant voltage (CV) or constant current (CC) mode. The FR9838 supports single-output or dual-output configurations and features a programmable CC threshold for current limiting. Under light-load conditions, the FR9838 can operate in power-saving mode to achieve high efficiency and reduce power dissipation. Protection features of the FR9838 include cycle-by-cycle current limiting, short-circuit protection, undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and thermal shutdown. A soft-start function prevents inrush current during startup. The device employs a current-mode control scheme for fast transient response. Internal compensation reduces external compensation components, simplifying the design process. In shutdown mode, the supply current is approximately 1mA. The FR9838 is available in a TDFN-10L (5mm x 6mm) package with excellent thermal conductivity.
