HXL1509-5.0

HXL1509 is a monolithic step-down DC/DC converter IC capable of driving a 3A load without external transistors, saving board space. The external shutdown function can be controlled via logic levels to place the device into standby mode. The internal compensation design provides good line and load regulation for the feedback control loop, requiring no external design. For protection, thermal shutdown prevents damage from over-temperature operation, while current limiting prevents the output switch from operating in an overcurrent condition. If the current limiting function is triggered and the voltage drops below 40.5V, the switching frequency will be reduced. The device operates at a switching frequency of 150KHz, allowing the required filter components to be smaller than those needed with lower-frequency switching regulators. Additional features include a guaranteed output voltage tolerance of ±4% and an oscillator frequency tolerance of ±15% under specified input voltage and output load conditions. The IC is available in a standard 8-pin SOP-8 package.
