Overview
The ICL7660CSA is a monolithic DC/DC voltage converter IC fabricated using CMOS technology, capable of voltage inversion, voltage doubling, voltage division, and multiple voltage outputs. The device operates stably over a 1.5V to 5V range and requires no external diodes across the entire temperature range. It delivers 10mA of output current per 0.5V voltage drop. The BOOST input can raise the internal oscillator frequency above the audio range, reducing output ripple and lowering external capacitance requirements. The chip combines low quiescent current with high conversion efficiency, and integrates an oscillator control circuit along with four power MOSFET switching transistors. Typical applications include negative voltage generation, voltage doubling, and 1/2 division of the input voltage.
