IP6550_HV

IP6550_HV is a buck controller with integrated synchronous switches, supporting a maximum input voltage of 36V. It integrates inductor peak current limiting and dual-output average current limiting, providing a complete solution for in-vehicle chargers, adapters, smart power strips, and dash cameras. IP6550_HV supports FB voltage regulation, with the output voltage set via external circuitry according to application requirements. IP6550_HV output features CV/CC characteristics: when the output current is below the set value, it operates in CV mode with a constant output voltage; when the output current exceeds the set value, it switches to CC mode and the output voltage decreases. IP6550_HV features a soft-start function to prevent inrush current at startup from affecting input power stability. IP6550_HV provides multiple protection functions, including input OVP, UVLO, output OCP, OVP, UVP, and short-circuit protection. IP6550_HV integrates a wide input voltage, high-efficiency synchronous buck controller with an input voltage range of 4.5V–36V and an output voltage range of 3.0V–28V. IP6550_HV integrates inductor peak current limiting and dual-output average current limiting. IP6550_HV switching frequency is 135kHz, internally adjustable. IP6550_HV features soft-start to prevent excessive inrush current at startup from causing faults. With VIN=24V and a 5V no-load output, the soft-start time is 3ms. Using a MOSFET with 5.5mΩ (Typ.) @ VGS=10V, at VIN=24V with a 5V output and 5A load, the conversion efficiency is 95%. IP6550_HV output features CV/CC characteristics: when the load current is below the set value, it operates in CV mode with a constant output voltage; when the load current exceeds the set value, it enters CC mode and the output voltage begins to drop; as the load current continues to increase, the output voltage drops rapidly until the output UVP is triggered. IP6550_HV allows adjustment of the VOUT output current limit by modifying the 5mΩ current sense resistor between VOS2 and VOUT. The current load status is determined by sensing the voltage difference between VOUT and VOS2. When the 5mΩ current sense resistor is changed, the corresponding output current limit will change accordingly. IP6550_HV monitors the VIN voltage; if VIN drops below 4.5V, IP6550_HV enters standby and shuts down the output. IP6550_HV features input OVP: when VIN rises above 36V, IP6550_HV detects input overvoltage and shuts down the output; the output is re-enabled only when VIN drops back to 35.6V. IP6550_HV features output UVP: when VOUT drops to 2.9V, the output is shut down and hiccup restart is initiated after 2s. IP6550_HV features short-circuit protection: if VOUT is below 2.9V after 16ms from startup, IP6550_HV detects an output short circuit, shuts down the output, and initiates hiccup restart after 2s. IP6550_HV features OTP: when the chip temperature reaches 150°C, the output is shut down; the output is re-enabled only when the temperature drops back to 110°C. IP6550_HV supports EN pin control for device enable and shutdown. The EN pin has no internal pull-up or pull-down and requires an externally driven voltage for control. When the EN pin voltage is detected above the EN input upper threshold, the DCDC is enabled; when the EN pin voltage is detected below the EN input lower threshold, the DCDC is disabled. IP6550_HV supports external FB feedback. For devices with external FB feedback enabled, the FB voltage is 0.84V.
