LM2596S-12

The LM2596S series are easy-to-use fixed and adjustable step-down switching regulators. This series offers fixed output voltage versions of 3.3V, 5V, and 12V, as well as an adjustable output version. Both versions can drive 3.5A loads with excellent line and load regulation. These regulators require minimal external components, are simple to use, and incorporate internal frequency compensation and a fixed-frequency oscillator. Under specified input voltage and output load conditions, the output voltage is guaranteed within ±3% tolerance. The oscillator frequency is guaranteed within ±15% tolerance. The device includes an external shutdown function with a typical standby current of 80 μA. Self-protection features include two-stage frequency-reducing current limiting for the output switch and thermal shutdown, providing full protection under fault conditions.
