The LM34922 constant on-time buck switching regulator includes all the features needed to implement a low-cost, high-efficiency bias regulator capable of delivering up to 2A of load current. The regulator integrates an N-channel buck switch, startup regulator, current limit detection, and internal ripple control. The constant on-time regulation principle eliminates the need for loop compensation, provides fast load transient response, and simplifies circuit implementation. Operating frequency remains constant across line and load conditions. The adjustable valley current limit detection enables smooth transition from constant voltage mode to constant current mode when current limit is reached, without requiring current limit foldback. The PGD output indicates that the output voltage has risen to within 5% of the intended regulation value. Additional features include: low output ripple, VIN UVLO, adjustable soft-start timing, thermal shutdown, gate drive precharge, gate drive UVLO, and maximum duty cycle limiting.
