The LM53603-Q1 and LM53602-Q1 buck regulators are designed for automotive applications, delivering 5V/3A or 3.3V/2A output (selectable via the ADJ option) from input voltages up to 36V. When the input voltage is up to 20V, the device achieves regulation using advanced high-speed circuitry while providing a 5V output at a 2.1MHz switching frequency. The device features an innovative architecture that enables a regulated 3.3V output even with an input voltage as low as 3.5V. With a maximum input voltage of 36V and a maximum allowable transient voltage of 42V, input surge protection design is simplified. The open-drain reset output with filtering and delay functions provides accurate system status indication. This feature eliminates the need for additional supervisory components, saving cost and board space. The device seamlessly transitions between PWM and PFM modes, with a no-load operating current of only 24μA, ensuring high efficiency and excellent transient response across all load conditions.
