Spread spectrum reduces peak emissions, and the rise time of the SW node is adjustable. It is specifically designed for automotive applications, supporting 42V automotive load dumps, with a total output regulation accuracy of ±1%. The VOUT can be adjusted between 1V and 95% of the VIN. A fixed output voltage of 3.3V is optionally available at the factory. It has a 0.3V dropout (typical) at a 3A load. It enables efficient power conversion under all loads, with a no-load current of 7μA at 13.5VIN, 3.3VOUT, and a PFM efficiency of 83% at 1mA, 13.5VIN, 5VOUT. It uses a VQFN-HR package with low switching node ringing and an easy-to-use, optimized pin arrangement. The switching frequency can be set or synchronized from 200kHz to 2.2MHz, avoiding noise-sensitive frequency bands. Additionally, the frequency can be selected to improve efficiency at low operating frequencies or reduce the solution size at high operating frequencies. The automatic mode enables frequency foldback during light-load operation, achieving a no-load current consumption of only 7μA (typical) and high light-load efficiency. Seamless transition between PWM and PFM modes, along with extremely low MOSFET on-resistance and an external bias input, ensures excellent efficiency across the entire load range. The electrical characteristics are rated for a junction temperature range of -40°C to +150°C.
