The LM634x0-Q1 is part of a family of automotive synchronous buck DC/DC converters featuring excellent efficiency and ultra-low quiescent current. It integrates high-side and low-side MOSFETs, delivering up to 6A output current over a wide 3V to 36V input voltage range with support for load dump transients up to 42V. The converter implements soft recovery from undervoltage conditions to eliminate output overshoot. The LM634x0-Q1 employs ZEN 1 switching technology with a comprehensive set of features for superior EMI performance, including spread-spectrum frequency modulation, a low-EMI enhanced HotRod QFN package that mitigates switching node ringing, and a symmetrical pin arrangement for optimized input capacitor placement. Switching frequency is adjustable from 200kHz to 2.2MHz to avoid sensitive frequency bands while optimizing efficiency or solution size for the application. PFM mode enables frequency foldback during light-load operation, achieving a no-load current consumption of only 7µA (typical) with high light-load efficiency. Seamless switching between PWM and PFM modes, combined with low MOSFET on-resistance and an external bias input, delivers outstanding efficiency and thermal performance across the full load range. The package incorporates multiple NC pins between critical power pins to improve FMEA results.
