The LMR24210 synchronous rectified step-down converter contains all the features needed to implement a low-cost, high-efficiency buck regulator. The device is capable of supplying 1A to the load with an output voltage as low as 0.8V. Dual N-channel synchronous MOSFET switches allow a minimum number of components, reducing complexity and minimizing board size. Unlike most other COT regulators, the LMR24210 does not rely on output capacitor ESR for stability and is designed to work seamlessly with ceramic and other output capacitors with very low ESR. It requires no loop compensation, enabling fast load transient response and simplifying circuit implementation. Because of the inverse relationship between input voltage and on-time, the operating frequency remains nearly constant during line changes. The operating frequency can be programmed up to 1MHz externally. Protection features include VCC undervoltage lockout, output overvoltage protection, thermal shutdown, and gate drive undervoltage lockout. The LMR24210 is available in a small DSBGA thin chip-scale package.
