LMR60420-Q1 is a 3V to 36V (42V transient), 2A synchronous buck converter for automotive applications. LMR60420-Q1 offers a spread-spectrum variant in an ultra-compact 2.5mm × 2mm HotRod QFN-9 package with solderable lead edges that reduce inductance and enable low EMI performance, helping automotive and other noise-sensitive designs achieve certification. All device variants support 1V to 20V output voltage by connecting a resistive voltage divider between the output voltage node, feedback, and ground. Each variant also supports a fixed output voltage by connecting the output voltage node directly to the feedback pin. The device comparison table provides details on fixed output voltage options. The current-mode control architecture with a 30ns minimum on-time enables high conversion ratios at high frequency, simplified loop compensation, fast transient response, and excellent load and line regulation. Forced PWM (FPWM) mode maintains a constant switching frequency under varying loads, while Auto mode enables seamless switching between PWM and PFM. In Auto mode, LMR60420-Q1 draws only 5μA of quiescent current, ensuring high efficiency across all load conditions. Minimal external components enable a compact PCB layout.
