Overview

LP3353 is a cost-effective LED driver optimized for LCD monitor and LCD TV backlight applications. It delivers a high-performance LED backlight solution while minimizing BOM cost. The device integrates a PWM boost driver operating in current-mode control at fixed frequency to regulate LED current. LED current is sensed via an external current-sense resistor. The voltage across the sense resistor is compared to a 0.4V reference level, and the error amplifier adjusts the power switch pulse width accordingly to regulate LED current. In addition, LP3353 supports external frequency PWM dimming for wide-range dimming control. Additional features include overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, and undervoltage lockout. LP3353 is available in a space-saving SOP-8 package.
