LP6224 is an asynchronous boost converter utilizing peak current mode control with a fixed switching frequency of 900kHz. The internal compensation network eliminates the need for external compensation components. The integrated soft-start circuit effectively controls inrush current during startup, preventing voltage droop on the battery or external power supply. Additionally, the switch current limit is programmable via an external resistor to accommodate various power system requirements. The LP6224 automatically enters PFM mode under light load conditions to improve conversion efficiency. As the load current increases, the device transitions to PWM mode, where the output ripple frequency band remains relatively fixed and conversion efficiency is high. The LP6224 integrates protection features including undervoltage, overcurrent, and overtemperature. The device is available in the compact SOT23-6 package.
