Overview

The LT8342 is a low quiescent current synchronous boost DC/DC converter. It employs the Silent Switcher architecture with optional spread-spectrum frequency modulation to minimize EMI emissions while achieving high efficiency at high switching frequencies. Output short-circuit protection and inrush current limiting are also optionally available. A wide input/output voltage range, low VIN pin quiescent current in Burst Mode, and 100% duty cycle capability of the synchronous MOSFET in pass-through mode (VIN ≥ VOUT) make the LT8342 ideal for general-purpose boost and automotive pre-boost applications. To reduce VOUT quiescent current in the feedback loop, an optional internal resistor divider (≥10MΩ) allows selection of 21 output voltage levels via two pins. The LT8342 integrates a 40V, 9A power switch, with a switching frequency programmable from 300kHz to 3MHz and synchronizable to an external clock. Additional features include programmable output soft-start, a power-good flag, and output overvoltage lockout.
