The MAX42405/MAX42406 are highly integrated synchronous buck converters with internal high-side and low-side switches. These devices are designed to deliver up to 6A of output current over a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 36V. Output voltage quality can be monitored via the PGOOD signal. The devices operate at very high duty cycles for low-dropout operation, making them well-suited for industrial applications. The MAX42405/MAX42406 offer programmable output voltage. Internal fixed switching frequencies of 400kHz and 1.5MHz help minimize external component size and reduce output ripple. Under light-load conditions, the devices automatically enter pulse-skipping mode, with a quiescent current as low as 20μA at no load. The product family (including the MAX42408/MAX42410) provides pin-compatible options supporting 5A to 10A output in single-phase configuration and up to 20A output in dual-phase configuration. These devices are also optimized for dual-phase operation with exceptionally high current-sharing accuracy. The MAX42405/MAX42406 are available in a compact 3.5mm × 3.75mm, 17-pin FC2QFN package requiring minimal external components.
