Overview
The MSMCP1640T-I/CHY is a high-efficiency current-mode synchronous boost converter that operates from single or dual alkaline cell supplies, with input voltages as low as 0.9V. The output voltage is adjustable up to 5.5V via an external resistor divider. Under light-load conditions, the MSMCP1640T-I/CHY enters a power-save mode to maintain high efficiency. The MSMCP1640T-I/CHY provides a true output disconnect feature, which allows the output voltage VOUT to be pulled down to zero during shutdown without drawing any current from the input source. The MSMCP1640T-I/CHY integrates a 0.5Ω N-channel MOSFET switch and a 0.6Ω P-channel synchronous rectifier, eliminating the need for an external Schottky diode. The device is available in a SOT23-6 package.
