Overview
The UniFET™ II MOSFET is a high-voltage MOSFET series introduced by Fairchild Semiconductor, based on advanced planar stripe and DMOS technology. This advanced MOSFET series offers the lowest on-resistance among planar MOSFETs, along with superior switching performance and higher avalanche energy capability. In addition, the internal gate-source ESD diode enables the UniFET II MOSFET to withstand HBM surge stress in excess of 2kV. The UniFET II Ultra FRFET™ MOSFET features exceptionally high body diode reverse recovery performance. Its reverse recovery time (trr) is less than 50ns, with a reverse dv/dt immunity of 20V/ns, compared to over 200ns and 4.5V/ns respectively for conventional planar MOSFETs. As a result, in applications where improved MOSFET body diode performance is required, the UniFET II Ultra FRFET MOSFET can eliminate additional components and enhance system reliability. This device family is suited for switching power converter applications such as power factor correction (PFC), flat panel display (FPD) TV power supplies, ATX, and electronic lamp ballasts.
