The 2Pro product is an integrated overcurrent/overvoltage protection device. This RoHS-compliant component integrates PolySwitch PPTC (Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient) technology and MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) technology in a single device, helping to reduce board space requirements and component count. Damage to telecommunications equipment can result from multiple factors, including lightning strikes, ESD, power contact, and induction from AC lines. The 2Pro TM2P-10271 device helps limit current during overcurrent events and clamp voltage during overvoltage events. Once the fault condition is removed and power is cycled, the 2Pro device resets, keeping the equipment operational. The 2Pro device helps address the need for resettable circuit protection in cost-sensitive PSTN and VoIP telephone equipment. The widespread adoption of VoIP gateways as the primary voice transmission medium in home and enterprise environments demands extremely high levels of safety and reliability. 2Pro circuit protection devices help manufacturers comply with global safety standards, including UL 60950, TIA-968-A, IEC 60950, and ITU-T K.20/K.21. This UL 497A-certified protector also helps provide ESD protection.
