This device is a boost converter featuring an integrated switching FET rated at 30V, capable of driving series-connected LEDs. The boost converter operates at a fixed switching frequency of 1150kHz to reduce output ripple, improve conversion efficiency, and allow the use of compact external components. The default white LED current is set via an external sense resistor RSET, with the feedback voltage regulated to 200mV, as shown in the typical application. During operation, the LED current can be controlled through the CTRL pin using a PWM signal. The duty cycle of the PWM signal determines the feedback reference voltage. In PWM mode, the device does not burst the LED current, thus generating no audible noise on the output capacitor. For maximum protection, the device integrates an open-circuit LED protection function that disables the device under open-LED conditions, preventing the output voltage from exceeding the IC's maximum rated voltage. The device is offered in a green SOT23-6 package and operates over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
