Overview
This is a three-terminal adjustable shunt regulator that allows the output voltage to be set to any value between Vref (approximately 2.495V) and 36V using two external resistors. The device features a typical output impedance of 0.15Ω. Its active output circuit provides a very sharp turn-on characteristic, making it an excellent replacement for Zener diodes in numerous applications. These applications include on-board voltage regulation, adjustable power supplies, and switching power supplies.
