Overview
The TL431-Q1 is a three-pin adjustable shunt regulator with rated thermal stability over the applicable automotive-grade temperature range. The output voltage can be set to any value between VREF (approximately 2.5V) and 36V using two external resistors. The device has a typical output impedance of 0.2Ω. The active output circuit provides a very sharp turn-on characteristic, making the device an excellent replacement for Zener diodes in many applications, including on-board regulation, adjustable power supplies, and switching power supplies.
