Overview

The TLIN1028-Q1 is a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) physical layer transceiver that complies with the LIN 2.2A ISO/DIS 17987–4 standard and features an integrated Low Dropout (LDO) regulator. This LIN System Basis Chip (SBC) reduces system complexity by providing a 3.3V or 5V voltage rail with a current of up to 70mA (D) or 125mA (DRB and DDA) for power microprocessors, sensors, or other devices. The TLIN1028-Q1 has an optimized current-limiting waveform shaping driver to reduce Electromagnetic Emission (EME). The TLIN1028-Q1 converts the LIN protocol data stream on the TXD input into a LIN bus signal. The receiver converts the data stream into a logic-level signal, which is sent to the microprocessor through the open-drain RXD pin. The sleep mode enables ultra-low current consumption and allows wake-up via the LIN bus or the EN pin. The LIN bus has two states: the dominant state (voltage close to ground) and the recessive state (voltage close to the battery). In the dominant state, the LIN bus is pulled high by an internal pull-up resistor (45kΩ) and a series diode, so responder node applications do not require external pull-up components. According to the LIN specification, commander node applications require an external pull-up resistor (1kΩ) plus a series diode.
