Overview
This device is a three-terminal adjustable shunt voltage regulator, with the output voltage settable to any value between Vref (approximately 1.24V) and 18V via two external resistors. These devices feature an output impedance of 0.05Ω (typical). The active output circuit provides a very sharp turn-on characteristic, making it an excellent replacement for Zener diodes in many applications. These applications include on-board voltage regulation, adjustable power supplies, and power-on/power-off control.
