TP8151A

TP8151 is a step-down LED constant-current driver operating in continuous inductor current mode, designed to efficiently drive one or more series-connected LEDs. The chip supports an input voltage range of 6V~55V, features an external power transistor, and allows externally adjustable output current. TP8151 employs a high-side current sensing method. The average LED output current can be set via an external resistor, and the DIM pin accepts both analog dimming and PWM dimming signals over a wide range. When the DIM voltage falls below 0.33V, TP8151 turns off the power transistor and enters a low-power standby mode. TP8151 integrates an automatic temperature compensation control circuit. When the chip's internal temperature exceeds 130°C, the LED output current gradually decreases as the temperature rises. When the internal temperature reaches 150°C, the LED output current stabilizes at 40% of the configured output current value, eliminating the low-frequency LED flickering issue associated with conventional over-temperature protection.
