Overview
The TPS568230 is a cost-effective, high-voltage input, high-efficiency synchronous buck converter with integrated MOSFETs. The TPS568230 features ULQ (Ultra-Low Quiescent Current) functionality for low bias current. Its operating supply input voltage range is 4.5V to 18V. The device uses DCAP3 control mode to provide fast transient response, good line and load regulation, requires no external compensation, and supports low ESR output capacitors such as dedicated polymer and ultra-low ESR ceramic capacitors. The TPS568230 provides comprehensive overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, overtemperature, and UVLO protection. It integrates a power-good signal, output discharge function, and heavy-load operation capability. The TPS568230 features a MODE pin for selecting the desired operating mode. To achieve high efficiency under light-load conditions, OOA mode and Advanced Eco-mode are available. OOA mode prevents the device from switching below audible frequencies (below 25kHz switching frequency). FCCM also meets stringent output voltage ripple requirements. The TPS568230 supports both internal and external soft-start time options. The internal fixed soft-start time is 1.3ms. Longer soft-start times can be achieved by connecting an external capacitor to the SS pin. The TPS568230 is available in a 20-pin 3.0mm×3.0mm HotRod QFN package, rated for a junction temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
