Overview

TPS61288 is a high power density, fully integrated synchronous boost converter featuring a 6.5mΩ power switch and an 8.5mΩ rectifier switch, providing an efficient, compact solution for portable systems. With a wide input voltage range of 2V (2.4V rising) to 18V, the TPS61288 supports applications powered by single-cell or two-cell lithium batteries. The device offers 15A switching current capability and can deliver output voltages up to 18V. The TPS61288 employs a peak current control topology with SOO modulation to regulate the output voltage. Under medium to heavy load conditions, the device operates in pulse width modulation (PWM) mode. Under light load and low duty cycle conditions, it automatically transitions to pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode. SOO modulation enables precise regulation across a wide load/VIN range while maintaining high efficiency and low output ripple. The switching frequency in PWM mode is 500kHz. The TPS61288 provides 19V output overvoltage protection, cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection, and thermal shutdown protection. The TPS61288 is available in a 2.5mm×3.0mm QFN package.
