TPS61378-Q1 is a fully integrated synchronous boost converter with integrated load disconnect. The input voltage range spans 2.3V to 14V, with a maximum output voltage of 18.5V. The programmable switch current limit ranges from 1A to 4.8A. The device draws 25μA quiescent current under VIN conditions. TPS61378-Q1 employs peak current mode control with a programmable switching frequency range of 200kHz to 2.2MHz. Under moderate to heavy load conditions, the device operates in fixed-frequency PWM mode. Under light load conditions, two selectable modes are available via the MODE pin configuration: automatic PFM mode and forced PWM mode, balancing efficiency and noise immunity under light load conditions. The switching frequency can be synchronized to an external clock. TPS61378-Q1 uses internal clock spread spectrum to achieve low EMI in FPWM mode. An internal soft-start timer is also included to limit inrush current. TPS61378-Q1 is available in multiple fixed output voltage versions, eliminating the need for external feedback resistors. It supports external loop compensation to optimize stability and transient response across a wider VOUT/VIN range. It also integrates robust protection features including output short-circuit protection, output overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown. TPS61378-Q1 is available in a 3mm×3mm 16-pin QFN package with wettable flanks.
