The TPS62560 device is a high-efficiency synchronous step-down converter optimized for battery-powered portable applications. It can deliver up to 1000mA output current from a single-cell Li-Ion battery or other common chemistries such as AA or AAA batteries. With an input voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V, the device is suitable for powering a wide variety of portable handheld devices or POL applications. The TPS62560 family operates at a fixed switching frequency of 2.25MHz and enters Power Save Mode under light load conditions to maintain high efficiency across the full load current range. The Power Save Mode is optimized for low output voltage ripple. For low-noise applications, the device can be forced into fixed-frequency PWM mode by pulling the MODE pin high. In shutdown mode, current consumption is reduced to below 1μA. The TPS62560 allows the use of small inductors and capacitors to achieve a compact solution form factor. The TPS62560 and TPS62562 are available in a 2mm×2mm, 6-pin QFN package, while the TPS62561 is available in a 5-pin TSOT23 package.
