The TPS6267x family are high-frequency synchronous step-down DC-DC converters optimized for small battery-powered applications. The family targets low-power applications, supports load currents up to 650mA, and allows the use of low-cost chip inductors and capacitors. The wide input voltage range of 2.3V to 4.8V supports applications powered by lithium-ion batteries with an extended voltage range. Different versions provide fixed voltage outputs ranging from 1.05V to 2.1V. The TPS6267x operates at a controlled 6MHz switching frequency and enters power-save mode operation at light load currents to maintain high efficiency across the entire load current range. During light load operation, PFM mode extends battery life by reducing quiescent current to 17μA (typical). For noise-sensitive applications, the device features PWM spread spectrum to provide a lower-noise regulated output while also maintaining low noise at the input. These features, combined with high PSRR and AC load regulation performance, make the device a suitable replacement for linear regulators to achieve higher power conversion efficiency.
