The TPS62851x is a pin-to-pin compatible family of easy-to-use, high-efficiency synchronous step-down DC/DC converters rated at 0.5A, 1A, 2A (continuous), and 3A (peak). Based on peak current mode control topology, low-resistance switches support up to 2A continuous output current and 3A peak current. The switching frequency is internally fixed at 2.25MHz and can be synchronized to an external clock in the range of 1.8MHz to 4MHz. In PWM/PFM mode, the TPS62851x automatically enters power-save mode at light loads, maintaining high efficiency across the full load range. The TPS62851x provides 1% output voltage accuracy in PWM mode, facilitating power supply designs with high output voltage precision. Via the SS/TR pin, users can set the startup time or track the output voltage to an external source, enabling external sequencing of different power rails and limiting inrush current during startup. The TPS62851x is available in an 8-pin 1.6mm×2.1mm S07583 package, delivering a high power density solution.
