TPS6287x-Q1 is a family of pin-compatible 6A, 9A, 12A, and 15A synchronous step-down DC/DC converters with differential remote sense. For each current rating, there is a full-featured device variant with an I2C interface and a limited-feature device variant without an I2C interface. All devices offer high efficiency and ease of use. Low-resistance power switches allow continuous output currents up to 15A at high ambient temperatures. These devices can operate in stacked mode to provide higher output current or to distribute power dissipation across multiple devices. The TPS6287x-Q1 family employs an enhanced DCS control scheme, supporting fast transient response in fixed-frequency operation. Devices can operate in power save mode for maximum efficiency, or in forced PWM mode for optimal transient performance and minimum output voltage ripple. The optional remote sense feature enables maximum voltage regulation at the point of load, and the device achieves better than ±1% DC voltage accuracy under all operating conditions. The switching frequency is resistor-selectable via the FSEL pin. The switching frequency can be set to 1.5MHz, 2.25MHz, 2.5MHz, or 3.0MHz, and can also be synchronized to an external clock within the same frequency range. The I2C-compatible interface provides multiple control, monitoring, and warning functions, such as voltage monitoring and temperature-related warnings. Output voltage can be rapidly adjusted through the I2C-compatible interface to adapt load power consumption to the application's performance requirements. The default startup voltage is resistor-selectable via the VSEL pin.
