The TPS6287x is a family of pin-compatible 6A, 9A, 12A, and 15A synchronous step-down DC/DC converters with differential remote sensing. For each current rating, both a full-featured device variant with I2C interface and a limited-featured variant without I2C interface are available. All devices offer high efficiency and ease of use. Low-resistance power switches enable continuous output current up to 15A at high ambient temperatures. Devices can operate in stacked mode to provide higher output current or distribute power dissipation across multiple devices. The TPS6287x family uses a fixed-frequency DCS-Control topology to support fast transient response. Devices can operate in power-save mode for maximum efficiency or forced PWM mode for transient performance and minimum output voltage ripple. Remote sensing enables voltage regulation at the point of load, allowing the device to achieve better than ±1% DC voltage accuracy under all operating conditions. The switching frequency is resistor-selectable via the FSEL pin at 1.5MHz, 2.25MHz, 2.5MHz, or 3.0MHz, and can also be synchronized to an external clock within the same frequency range. The I2C-compatible interface provides various control, monitoring, and warning functions, such as voltage monitoring and temperature-related warnings. The output voltage can be rapidly adjusted via the I2C-compatible interface to match load power consumption to application performance requirements. The default startup voltage is resistor-selectable via the VSEL pin.
