TPS6287x is a family of pin-compatible 6A, 9A, 12A, and 15A synchronous DC/DC buck converters with differential remote sensing. For each current rating, there are fully featured device variants with an I2C interface and feature-limited variants without an I2C interface. All devices offer high efficiency and ease of use. Low-resistance power switches support continuous output currents up to 15A in high-temperature environments. These devices can operate in stacked mode to deliver higher output currents or distribute power dissipation across multiple devices. The TPS6287x family implements a fixed-frequency DCS control scheme that supports fast transient response. Devices can operate in power-save mode to maximize efficiency, or in forced PWM mode for excellent transient performance and ultra-low output voltage ripple. The remote sensing feature regulates voltage at the point of load, and the device achieves better than ±1% DC voltage accuracy under all operating conditions. Switching frequency is resistor-selectable via the FSEL pin and can be set to 1.5MHz, 2.25MHz, 2.5MHz, or 3.0MHz, with external clock synchronization supported over the same frequency range. The I2C-compatible interface provides a variety of control, monitoring, and alert functions, such as voltage monitoring and temperature-related warnings. Output voltage can be adjusted rapidly via the I2C-compatible interface to adapt load power consumption to application performance requirements. The default startup voltage is resistor-selectable via the VSEL pin.
