The TPS63710 is an inverting buck DC/DC converter capable of generating negative output voltages as low as -5.5V. It delivers output currents up to 1A, depending on the input-to-output voltage ratio. Its filtered reference system provides the low 1/f noise required in high-performance telecom systems. The TPS63710 employs a fixed-frequency PWM control topology, featuring internal current limiting and thermal shutdown. With an input voltage range of 3.1V to 14V, the TPS63710 is suitable for a wide range of applications requiring a negative output voltage derived from a higher positive input voltage (in absolute value). Synchronous rectification delivers high efficiency, particularly at small output voltages such as -1.8V — commonly used as the negative supply voltage for high-performance DACs and ADCs.
