Overview

The TPS65265 integrates three synchronous buck converters supporting a wide 4.5V to 17V input voltage range, covering most power buses or batteries with intermediate bus cutoff voltages of 5V, 9V, 12V, or 15V. This converter features constant-frequency peak current mode, designed to simplify applications while allowing designers to optimize the system for their target application. The switching frequency is adjustable from 250kHz to 2.3MHz via an external resistor or external clock. 120° out-of-phase operation among Buck1, Buck2, and Buck3 minimizes input filter requirements. The TPS65265 enters pulse skip mode (PSM) by driving the MODE pin high or leaving it floating, and enters forced continuous conduction mode (FCM) by connecting the MODE pin to GND. PSM improves efficiency under light loads by reducing switching losses, while FCM reduces noise sensitivity and RF interference. The TPS65265 is available in a 32-pin 5mm×5mm thermally enhanced QFN (RHB) low-profile package.
