The TPS8269x SIP device is a complete 500mA/800mA DC/DC step-down power supply for low-power applications. The package integrates a switching regulator, inductor, and input/output capacitors, requiring no additional external components. Based on a high-frequency synchronous buck DC-DC converter, this device is optimized for battery-powered portable applications. This MicroSIP DC/DC converter operates at a regulated 3MHz switching frequency and enters power-save mode at light load currents to maintain high efficiency across the full load current range. PFM mode reduces quiescent current to 23μA (typical) under light load conditions, extending battery life. For noise-sensitive applications, the device features PWM spread spectrum functionality, providing a lower-noise regulated output and reducing noise on a noisy input. These features, combined with high PSRR and AC load regulation performance, make the device suitable as a replacement for linear regulators to achieve better power conversion efficiency. The TPS8269x SIP package is housed in a compact (2.3mm × 2.9mm), low-profile (1.0mm) BGA package, ideally suited for automated assembly using standard SMT equipment.
