Overview

TX4221 is a dedicated DC-DC controller IC designed for boost and buck-boost switching power supplies. Typical applications support an input voltage range of 5–40V; with extended circuitry, input voltages above 400V are also supported. The IC employs fixed-frequency PWM control and automatically reduces switching frequency under light-load conditions to improve conversion efficiency. An integrated high-precision error amplifier, oscillator, and frequency compensation circuit simplify peripheral design. Built-in overcurrent protection and EN pin shutdown functionality are included. The switching frequency is adjustable via a single external resistor, allowing easy configuration for different applications. Internal soft-start and over-temperature protection circuits reduce external component count and enhance system reliability. Available in SOP8 package.
