WS2808F

WS2808F is a 12V three-channel LED driver control IC. It integrates an intelligent digital interface, data latches, signal reshaping and amplification driver circuitry, and a high-precision internal oscillator. The chip supports breakpoint resume transmission, meaning that if a single chip fails, the remaining chips continue to operate normally. It uses a single-wire return-to-zero communication protocol. After power-on reset, the chip receives data from the controller via the DIN port. The first 24 bits of data received are extracted and latched by the first chip; the remaining data is processed by the internal reshaping and amplification circuit and forwarded through the DO port to the next cascaded chip, with each chip reducing the data stream by 24 bits. The chip employs automatic reshaping and forwarding technology, so the number of cascadable chips is not limited by signal transmission constraints — only by signal transmission speed requirements. Based on the received 24-bit data, the internal data latches generate control signals with varying duty cycles on the OUT1, OUT2, and OUT3 output pins. When a RESET signal is applied to the DIN pin, all chips simultaneously output their received data to the corresponding ports, after which each chip resumes data reception. After receiving the initial 24 bits of data, each chip forwards subsequent data via the DO port. Prior to receiving a RESET code, the OUT1, OUT2, and OUT3 pins maintain their current output states unchanged. Upon receiving a low-level RESET code lasting more than 280μs, the chip outputs the most recently received 24-bit PWM data pulse widths to the OUT1, OUT2, and OUT3 pins.
