WS2811G is an integrated circuit designed specifically for three-channel LED driver control. The chip integrates an intelligent digital interface with data latching, signal reshaping and amplification driver circuitry, a high-precision internal oscillator, and a 20V high-voltage programmable constant-current output driver. To reduce power supply ripple, the OUTR, G, and B channels feature a delayed turn-on function that effectively suppresses circuit ripple during frame refresh. The chip uses a single-wire return-to-zero code communication protocol. After power-on reset, the DIN port receives the data stream from the controller; the first chip extracts the first 24 bits of data and stores them in the internal latch, while the remaining data is reshaped and amplified internally before being forwarded through the DO port to the next cascaded chip — with each stage reducing the signal by 24 bits. Thanks to the automatic reshaping and forwarding technology, the number of cascadable devices is not limited by signal transmission constraints, but only by transmission speed. Based on the received 24-bit data, the internal latch generates PWM signals with varying duty cycles on the OUTR, OUTG, and OUTB control outputs. When a low-level RESET signal with a duration exceeding 280μs is applied to the DIN input, all chips simultaneously latch the stored data to their respective output pins; prior to this, the outputs retain their previous state. After the RESET signal ends, the chip resumes receiving data. The chip is available in an FSOP8 package.
