Overview
The XL2596HVP is a high-voltage, high-efficiency step-down DC-DC switching converter operating at a fixed 150KHz switching frequency with an output current capability of up to 2A. It supports a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 50V and a maximum duty cycle of 100%. The built-in loop compensation module effectively reduces the system component count, lowers the overall power system cost, and minimizes PCB footprint. The XL2596HVP is available in an ADJ adjustable output voltage version as well as fixed output voltage versions of 3.3V, 5.0V, and 12V. The IC features built-in thermal shutdown protection, output current limiting protection, and short-circuit protection. When short-circuit protection is activated, the switching frequency is reduced from 150KHz to approximately 30KHz.
